Reaping What We've Sown

Silhouette of a foxtail grass meadow under the summer sun.

We're now in the midst of the harvest season, and this has given me the perfect opportunity to reflect upon the past year, what I have achieved and how I wish to progress and grow throughout the coming seasons.

And what a year it has been! You will (hopefully) have noticed that the shop is now brimming with some wonderful new stock, and there is more on the way! The past few weeks have been incredibly exciting for me, and I feel increasing confident that I am living the path that I want to. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a passionate reader, and the addition of books to our range has resulted in many phone calls leaving my Nan utterly bewildered. (She loves it really. She just doesn't have a clue what I'm rambling on about.)

It should be noted that all of our books come from small, independent publishers and bookshops, avoiding exploitative internet giants. Deliveries may take a little longer to arrive, but I am working with people who are not only highly knowledgeable, but love what they do and share the same core ethics that Alchemical Romance has been built around.

Books aside, the apothecary is really starting to take shape now, and for those who are looking ahead to the reflective season, we have some really beautiful herbal blends and smudges from Autumn Alchemy, LotusLeafAltars, and Witchuals to enhance dreams, divination & scrying, and spiritual connections; perfect for Samhain. Better still, all herbs are ethically-sourced from within the UK.

As well as dried herbs, I am also thrilled to have secured some amazing aromatherapy blends for our range, including those made by In Lumine Lunae and Two Libras. Both of these companies are small UK businesses that I am very proud to champion. (Two Libras' bath bomb and crystal kits make for perfect stocking fillers for anyone looking to get ahead of the festive period.)

Talking of the festive period, I am hoping to get cracking on more decorations and cards in the coming weeks, so look out for them. I've had great fun making some 3d box card designs from Furrow & Feather SVG these past couple of weeks (see pictures below), and am hoping to be posting some more of these soon. I was also pretty pleased with how a bespoke engagement card came out. If any of you are interested in having a card made for any occasion, just send me a message. All I ask is that you please allow a minimum lead time of 4 weeks (6 weeks for Christmas cards).

In the meantime, spread as much kindness as you possibly can. I wish everyone a bountiful harvest and a very happy Alban Elfed / Mabon.

Much love,

Victoria xx
