A native flower to the edges of the Nile, the Blue Lotus has symbolised spiritual enlightenment for thousands of years. This flower is also known as the “Sacred Blue Egyptian Lotus” or the Blue Lily which originated near the River Nile. The Egyptians considered it as a “holy flower” and are associated with the Egyptian god ‘Nefertem’, the monuments in Egypt have carvings that depict the prominent usage of this flower for various purposes. Traditionally, Blue Lotus was consumed after being soaked in warm water or wine. The dried flowers were used to make cigarettes to smoke.
